README / THE SHELL GUIDE

READ AND MOVE
  pwd Show your current directory
ls -la Include hidden entries and permissions
  cat /site/pages/about.txt Print a page
  nano /site/pages/about.txt Edit a page
cd /site/galleries/sunset Enter a gallery folder
  ./show.sh Display its manifest

In nano: Ctrl+O, Enter saves; Ctrl+X exits; Ctrl+W searches. The touch toolbar
provides those keys. Ctrl+Shift+M opens settings from the terminal; Escape
returns to it. Terminal expansion gives an editor more room.

People & Places contains fifteen supplied photographs by credited Unsplash
contributors. Captions name the photographers; they are not the site owner's
photography. Its manifest preserves five portraits followed by ten place studies.

Each fresh session starts with a randomly selected object. With automatic
changes enabled, /home chooses the house and gallery folders choose the
camera. Selecting any model yourself pauses automatic object changes until
a fresh session or until you re-enable them in Display.

YOUR OWN SESSION GALLERY
After sudo su, copy a collection and edit its manifest:
  cp -R /site/galleries/sunset /site/galleries/mine
  nano /site/galleries/mine/manifest.json
  bash /site/galleries/mine/show.sh

The script finds the folder it lives in, so the copy opens its own manifest.
Change the title or captions, remove an image entry, or copy an SVG from a
different gallery into this folder and add its filename as a new src.
Keep JSON quotes and commas valid; image paths are relative to the manifest.
The gallery bridge reads the current files each time the script runs. Use
Return to ASCII or ocean close before reopening an edited collection.

For a new folder without a manifest, let the helper make one:
  mkdir -p /site/galleries/collected
  cp /site/galleries/signal/pulse.svg /site/galleries/collected/
  ocean gallery /site/galleries/collected

The folder command scans supported image files in filename order. Run it
again after adding or removing files to refresh its generated manifest.
Opening an explicit manifest, as show.sh does, keeps your curated order.

A manifest has this shape:
  {"title":"My study","images":[
{"src":"sunset.svg","alt":"Layered waves below a warm sun",
     "caption":"A horizon from the Afterglow collection."}
  ]}

Source images can declare separate retroSrc and ditheredSrc PNGs. Retro color
uses a small pixel grid and palette; Dithered grayscale uses black-and-white
patterns. Original shows the published source. If a requested variant is
missing, the display falls back to that source image. These settings do not
convert new guest files: both treatments are prepared when the site is built.

PACKAGES AND ROOT
  sudo su
  apk --no-progress add --no-cache curl
  curl --fail --silent --show-error https://example.com/

The puzzle trail starts at /home/guest/start-here.txt. Root is local to this
visitor's Alpine guest. Networking supports public IPv4 TCP on ports 80 and
443. Package signatures and HTTPS certificate checks stay enabled.

TEMPORARY MEANS TEMPORARY
Edits, packages, new images, and privileges last only in this session. A
fresh session discards them and starts from the published seed. Use the
project's content source files to make a change that should be published.
